How To Remove Yellowing Stains From Wool
Wool generally should be dry cleaned. Always follow garment label instructions when pretreating and laundering your clothes. For colored garments, test an inside seam for colorfastness.
If the garment is washable, fill washer with warmest water recommended on the garment label. Add Purex® detergent with bleach alternative and 1 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax. Place yellowed items in washer and agitate four minutes on regular cycle. Stop washer and soak clothes for 15 minutes. Restart washer and agitate 15 minutes. Complete the wash cycle. Repeat process if needed. Avoid cleaning wool with laundry products containing enzymes. If dry clean only, take it to the dry cleaner for stain removal.
