How To Remove Tar Stains From Nylon
Nylon generally should be dry cleaned. Always follow garment label instructions when pretreating and laundering your clothes. For colored garments, test an inside seam for colorfastness.
If the garment is washable, follow the instructions below. Treat tar stains as quickly as possible. Use a dull knife to scrape excess tar from the fabric. Place the stain face down on clean paper towels. Sponge with dry-cleaning fluid (or WD-40 Lubricant). Replace towels frequently for better absorption. Pretreat with Purex® Complete with Zout® detergent. Then launder with Purex® detergent in the warmest water recommended for the garment. If dry clean only, take it to the dry cleaner for stain removal.
